As an ESL Teacher and globally connected educator, Quizlet modes and features have made a great impact in my classes and presentations. Vocabulary, grammar, phonetic and spelling acquisition are dimensions of the language that require permanent audio- visual support.

Reflections on Week 4 #DCMOOC


As educators we become and remain digitally fluent and knowledgeable about the emerging digital world that our students already embrace by getting in contact with global courses that deal with Edtech trends and digital fluency indicators.It is important to empower students and interact with what they know about digital literacy that could be introduced into other classes with positive effects.

Collaborative works and query based activities that solve problems could help to model digital citizenship especially those that lead to discussion and reflection.If we can scaffold students in synchronous teaching , it is easier to teach them how to build a positive and active footprint away from the risks of unsafe and irresponsible internet usage.

We can collaborate with other educators around the world to learn more about digital citizenship by advising them to connect with other teachers through communities, circles ,groups and social networks to establish plnetworks of professional development. Within those groups they would find curators and apps that link to them to be updated and scaffolded.

Teaching 21st century skills with ICT integration and digital citizenship and fluency is not an option but the road to take in a global scenario that has shifted to a 360Β°degree multiscreen and multitasking panorama where no device will replace a teacher but a teacher who manages to integrate it in a class will.
